Japan Shines in Pacific Nations Cup Opener with Stellar Performance

Fiji-born winger Jone Naikabula made a significant impact during Japan’s 55-20 victory over Canada in the Pacific Nations Cup opener in Vancouver on Monday, scoring a try. Naikabula showcased his speed by covering over 40 meters without being touched before crossing the line for a spectacular try. Additionally, he played a key role in setting up several other tries throughout the match.

Lock Warner Dearns delivered an impressive performance, earning the Man of the Match title with two tries. Other contributors to Japan’s score included Tomoki Osada, Seungsin Lee, Dylan Riley, Kanji Shimokawa, and Malo Tuitama.

In Round 2 of the Pacific Nations Cup, Samoa, coming off a 42-16 loss to Fiji in Suva last week, is set to host Tonga at Apia Park on Saturday. Meanwhile, Canada will take on the USA Eagles on Monday. The FIJI Water Flying Fijians will have a bye in Round 2 and will head to Teufaiva Park in Nukualofa next week to face Tonga.
