The Cabinet has approved a grant aid agreement with the Government of Japan designed to enhance the Ministry of Public Works’ capabilities in road construction and maintenance. This initiative aims to improve the operational efficiency of the Ministry by facilitating the acquisition of crucial heavy machinery.
As part of this partnership, Japan will allocate around $12.6 million for the procurement of heavy equipment, which is expected to significantly bolster road works throughout the nation. The funding will not only provide essential tools for construction but also help in maintaining existing road infrastructure, ensuring safer and more efficient transportation for the public.
This collaboration highlights a commitment to strengthening infrastructure and ultimately supports economic development by improving connectivity across the region. The enhancement of road networks is crucial for facilitating trade, enabling access to services, and promoting overall growth.
