Home Affairs Minister Pio Tikoduadua has suggested the creation of an Oceanic Alliance for the Security of Island States, referred to as “OASIS.” During the opening of the Maritime Security Conference this morning, Tikoduadua emphasized that this alliance would serve as a formal platform for Pacific Island States to work together on various security challenges. These include tackling transnational organized crime, addressing climate change, and preventing illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing.
