The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Fiji is playing a crucial role in promoting spiritual awareness, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Professor Biman Prasad.

During his remarks at the organization’s anniversary celebration last Saturday, he highlighted how the distribution of sacred texts by ISKCON has empowered millions to develop spiritual knowledge that fosters a more balanced, fulfilling, and purposeful life.

“By organizing spiritual seminars, inviting knowledgeable teachers, and distributing Srila Prabhupada’s books, ISKCON has offered Fijians valuable chances to engage with spiritual teachings,” stated Prof Prasad.

“This engagement has enabled individuals from various backgrounds to explore life’s essence, guiding them on their personal journeys with enhanced clarity and purpose.”

Prof Prasad emphasized that ISKCON’s contributions go beyond spiritual education.

“It has significantly aided in nation-building. The establishment of temples, such as the Sri Sri Radha Golakabihari Temple, which is also marking its 20th anniversary, serves as sanctuaries for worship, cultural heritage, and spiritual education.”

“These sacred places are not just buildings; they are vibrant centers of community life where values of compassion, humility, and devotion are practiced and shared.”
