Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica announced that Investment Fiji is handling a project pipeline comprising 184 initiatives valued at $6.2 billion, up from $4.3 billion.

Addressing the 2024-2025 National Budget, Kamikamica emphasized that attracting billions of dollars in investment hinges on the ‘Ease of Doing Business Project’. This initiative includes the digital ‘BusinessNow Fiji portal’, which will serve as a virtual one-stop platform for investors.

Kamikamica highlighted the significance of international trade to Fiji’s economy. He noted that the Ministry has been striving to secure better trade deals for Fiji, which is the sole Pacific Island nation participating in the 14-member Indo-Pacific Economic Framework.

“Investors will now have access to a single platform involving 16 government agencies and offering 25 e-Services by 2025. This will commence with setting up businesses and obtaining construction permits, paving the way for limitless opportunities,” Kamikamica stated.

He added that the Government plans to launch this initiative soon.
