Former Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum is currently being questioned at the Criminal Investigation Department in Toorak, Suva. Sayed-Khaiyum arrived with his counsel Davenesh Sharma and Gul Fatima in the past hour.
Assistant Commissioner of Police – Crime Mesake Waqa confirmed that Sayed-Khaiyum is being questioned on allegations of abuse of office related to his tenure as Minister for Aviation and Attorney General between 2018 and 2022.
