Authorities are looking into the recent death of a male inmate at Natabua Prison in Lautoka, Fiji. The prisoner, believed to be in his late 20s, was discovered unresponsive in his cell early yesterday morning and was quickly taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime, Mesake Waqa, confirmed that an investigation is underway and stated that the incident was reported to the Lautoka Police Station. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death. The deceased individual was originally from Rakiraki and was serving a sentence for theft.
