Authorities have initiated an investigation into a reported break-in involving former Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry’s vehicle at the headquarters of the Fiji Labour Party in Suva.
The police confirmed the probe following an official complaint submitted by the FLP administrators. According to a social media update from the party, the rear window of Mr. Chaudhry’s vehicle was shattered, suggesting an effort to search for cash.
The statement from the FLP noted, “A police report has been filed and fingerprints collected. Authorities believe these prints belong to young individuals.”
In light of the incident, Mr. Chaudhry urged the public to remain vigilant regarding their personal belongings. He expressed concerns over a reported increase in crime rates as the festive season approaches, advising people to take extra precautions.
