Police have initiated an investigation into the reported break-in of former Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry’s vehicle at the Fiji Labour Party headquarters in Suva. The inquiry was confirmed by police after an official report was filed by FLP administrators.
In a statement on social media, the FLP indicated that the rear window of Mr. Chaudhry’s vehicle was broken, suggesting an attempt to search for money inside. “A police report has been filed and fingerprints have been collected. Authorities believe the fingerprints belong to younger individuals,” the statement noted.
Additionally, Mr. Chaudhry has urged the public to take extra precautions regarding their property. He warned that people should be vigilant as the crime rate appears to be increasing with the upcoming festive season.
