Police are investigating an alleged break-in involving the vehicle of former Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry at the Fiji Labour Party headquarters in Suva. The police confirmed the investigation after a report was filed by administrators of the party.
According to a social media update from the Fiji Labour Party, the rear window of Mr. Chaudhry’s vehicle was smashed, indicating a possible attempt to search for cash. The statement also noted that fingerprints have been collected, and police suspect they may belong to young individuals.
In light of the incident, Mr. Chaudhry urged the public to remain vigilant regarding their property. He advised caution as reports indicate a rise in crime with the festive season approaching.
