The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has forwarded the investigation file regarding Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) Commissioner Barbara Malimali to the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigation.
According to a statement from the ODPP, this decision followed discussions between Deputy DPP John Rabuku, who was assigned to review the case, and Acting DPP Nancy Tikoisuva.
Last week, the ODPP received the investigation file from FICAC concerning Malimali.
The ODPP noted that it was determined the investigation was not yet complete, prompting the file to be sent to the CID Director with recommendations to finalize the inquiry.
Once the investigation is concluded, the file will be sent back to the ODPP for a thorough evaluation of all evidence. The ODPP indicated that an update on the findings will be provided after the completed investigation file is returned and a decision is made.
