The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has forwarded the investigation file related to Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) Commissioner Barbara Malimali to the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigation. This decision was made following a meeting between Deputy DPP John Rabuku, who was assigned to examine the case, and Acting DPP Nancy Tikoisuva.
Last week, the ODPP received the FICAC investigation file regarding Malimali. The ODPP stated, “A decision was reached that the investigation into this matter was incomplete; therefore, the file has been sent to the Director of CID with recommendations to complete the investigation.”
After the CID concludes its investigation, the file will be returned to the ODPP for a thorough analysis of the evidence. The ODPP assured that updates on the outcome of the file review will be provided once the completed investigation is submitted and a decision is made.
