South Sea Towage Limited recently welcomed three graduates from the Nadave Technical School as intern employees. Nathan Campbell, Seveci Vakaloloma, and Saimoni Raikuna are among the first participants in an initiative launched by the Center for Appropriate Technology and Development (CATD) under the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs, Culture, Heritage, and Arts.

Aporosa Silatolu, Director of CATD Nadave, emphasized the significance of this event in creating meaningful employment opportunities not just for these three individuals but for the youth of Fiji as a whole. He stated, “The center aims to provide a platform for many youths in Fiji to find meaningful employment, and we are delighted to have signed on three interns today, who are the first of many to come.”

Saimoni Raikuna, a 21-year-old who graduated from Nadave Technical School last year, expressed his gratitude towards both the school and South Seas Towage for this opportunity. “I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity as I never imagined this happening. This is only the start of my career,” Raikuna said.

He encouraged other youths in Fiji to harness their skills and talents to support themselves, stating, “For my brothers and sisters listening, don’t see your educational background as a barrier in achieving your dreams.”

The Nadave Technical School aims to be a key player in the initiatives of the Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs, working towards providing job opportunities for the youth in Fiji and tackling rising unemployment rates.
