Weather Update: Hold Onto Your Umbrellas!
Good day, wonderful weather-watchers! The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi has rolled out an exciting forecast for you. As of 10:45 am on this fine Monday, April 14, 2025, we have a nice moist northeasterly wind flow slinking its way across our beautiful islands. Just when you thought it couldn’t rain any harder, a cheeky trough of low pressure is making its way toward us from the west—get ready for a showdown tonight!
Let’s take a peek at what the sky has in store for the Fiji group before midnight tomorrow:
Expect occasional showers and the occasional movie-worthy thunderstorm, especially in the eastern and interior parts of Viti Levu (think Coastal Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu, and the like). You might also want to keep an eye on the Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Northern Division, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and some little islands straying nearby. So, pack your raincoat and your best dancing shoes because, here comes the rain! Just when you thought it was settling down, those showers will pick up pace and transform into a full-blown rain party starting tonight.
Oh, and watch out for those localized heavy downpours—they can be sneaky culprits when it comes to flash flooding in low-lying areas. With moderate to fresh northeasterly winds blowing, you might just be taking a breezy stroll down your street—if you don’t mind a bit of mud, that is. The seas? They’ll be moderate to rough, so if you’re planning to channel your inner sea captain, perhaps pick a calmer day.
Now, looking ahead to Wednesday, it appears our rain party will continue. Expect more occasional rain, with some of it being heavy enough to make even the fish jealous, as well as a few enthusiastic thunderstorms ready to crash the scene.
Here’s a localized breakdown for your area:
**Navua / Suva / Nausori**: Occasional showers with some isolated thunderstorms trying to steal the spotlight. Rain is on tonight’s agenda—don’t forget your umbrella!
**Sigatoka / Coral Coast**: The Coral Coast will receive occasional showers and some thunder… just to keep things lively!
**Nadi / Lautoka / Ba**: Cloudy periods with some showers will be your backdrop, transitioning to frequent rain by tonight.
**Tavua / Rakiraki**: Showers will come around for a visit, especially over Rakiraki. Get ready for rain to turn up the volume tonight!
**Natadradave / Korovou**: Your showers are following the trend with occasional thunderstorms—like a surprise party!
**Yasawa / Mamanuca group**: Occasional showers will join the festivities, with rain making an appearance soon.
**Labasa / Savusavu**: Showers and the thrilling company of thunderstorms are on your dance card for tonight!

As always, stay safe, keep your spirits high, and remember to embrace the wet and wild side of our beautiful Fiji weather!
