A 2-2 draw in a fiercely contested Group A match between Suva and Navua on Day 2 of the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) keeps both teams vying for a semifinal position.

After suffering defeats in their opening matches against Labasa and Lautoka with identical scores of 3-1, both teams were in need of a positive outcome in this game.

Suva appeared more aggressive and found the net twice in the first half, with goals from Samuela Drudru and Solomon Islander Gagame Feni in the 8th and 29th minutes, respectively.

Navua managed to reduce the deficit just before halftime with a stunning free-kick from Kolinio Sivoki that caught goalkeeper Akuila Mateisuva off guard. Suva went into the break leading 2-1.

However, a crucial mistake by Remueru Tekiate midway through the second half allowed Thomas Dunn to score, equalizing the match at 2-2.

Both teams now each have a point and must secure victories in their final matches to keep their semifinal hopes alive. Flick Hygiene Suva is set to face Flick Hygiene Lautoka at 8 PM, while Stratum Construction/Zeg Investment Navua will take on Extra Supermarket Labasa at 4 PM.
