Qenika Ravula has demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination by graduating despite facing significant challenges. Inspired by a verse from the Bible, Ravula has managed to overcome the difficulties brought about by his condition, kyphosis, and has now joined the ranks of the 51 graduates at the Pacific Polytech ceremony held at Kshatriya Hall in Labasa.
Receiving his National Certificate in Electrical Fitter Mechanic Level Three, Ravula expressed overwhelming emotions as he approached the stage to accept his diploma from Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga. This graduation marks a significant milestone for the 20-year-old, who is the first in his family to earn a trade certificate in his field.
From Vuinaqalutu Village in Dreketi, Macuata, Ravula shared how his spinal disorder affected his social interactions for more than a decade, but the support from his family and his faith provided him with the strength needed to persevere. After completing his Year 12 education at Ahmadiyya Muslim College, he attended the Naleba Youth Training Centre and seized the opportunity to enroll in a five-month course under the Tertiary Education and Loan Scheme.
Grateful for his mother’s unwavering support, Ravula recognizes the sacrifices made by his family, who depend on social assistance and engage in agricultural practices to sustain themselves. He encouraged other young individuals, emphasizing the importance of relying on faith, making positive life choices, and committing to hard work as a path to success.
Ravula’s story serves as an inspiration, reminding us that despite life’s obstacles, determination and support can lead to remarkable achievements. His message resonates powerfully: “God has a plan for everyone,” and with effort and faith, anyone can overcome their challenges and achieve their dreams.
