Qenika Ravula’s inspiring journey was highlighted during the Pacific Polytech graduation at the Kshatriya Hall in Labasa, where he was one of the 51 graduates honored for their achievements. Despite living with kyphosis, a spinal disorder that has significantly impacted his life for over a decade, Ravula has demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination.
Taking to the stage to receive his National Certificate in Electrical Fitter Mechanic Level Three, 20-year-old Ravula became the first in his family to earn a trade certificate. The graduate, who hails from Vuinaqalutu Village in Dreketi, Macuata, expressed profound gratitude to his family, particularly his mother, who has tirelessly supported him. Their family’s sustenance comes largely from root crops that she cultivates, alongside assistance from the Social Welfare Department.
Ravula’s educational journey began after completing Year 12 at Ahmadiyya Muslim College. With encouragement from his family, he pursued further education at the Naleba Youth Training Centre, where he participated in a five-month program under the Tertiary Education and Loan Scheme.
Reflecting on his experiences, Ravula encourages young individuals to remain steadfast and seek strength from God, rather than resorting to drugs or crime. He underscores the importance of hard work and making wise life choices, reminding everyone that with perseverance, anyone can achieve their goals, regardless of their circumstances.
