At the recent graduation ceremony held at Vodafone Arena, Monisha Mamta Rao, a 38-year-old mother of three, captivated attendees as she received her award with the assistance of her husband. Living with a physical disability has not deterred Ms. Rao from achieving her academic goals; she was honored as one of two recipients of the National Training and Productivity Centre Excellence Award in Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management after a year of diligent study in Labasa.

Ms. Rao quoted a personal mantra, “There is nothing about me without me,” which inspires her to keep pushing forward. She expressed deep gratitude for her family’s unwavering support, attributing her success to their love and understanding.

Being married to Ronald Rao for seven years, the couple has built a strong partnership with their three children. Ronald radiated pride for his wife’s achievements, stating, “Seven years of marriage, and have never looked at her in any other way than as my loving and hardworking wife.” With a unified approach to balancing work and family responsibilities, he emphasized their teamwork in overcoming challenges.

Reflecting on her journey and success, Ms. Rao encouraged others with an empowering message: “Anyone can achieve anything. With willpower and self-respect, you can soar to greater heights.”

This story of resilience, love, and determination serves as a poignant reminder that with support and perseverance, incredible accomplishments are possible.

In a world where overcoming obstacles can be daunting, Ms. Rao’s journey stands as an inspiring testament to personal strength and familial support. The hope here is to motivate others facing similar challenges to pursue their dreams with confidence and a solid support system.
