“Inside Out 2 Surpasses $1 Billion Mark, Sets Record for Fastest Animated Film to Reach Milestone”

Inside Out 2, produced by Pixar and Disney, has now officially joined the $1 billion global box office club, hitting this significant milestone in record time for any animated film. This achievement was made in just 19 days after its release, faster than any other animated movie ever has.

The sequel continued to reign supreme at the box office in its third week, earning a domestic total of $57.4 million and boosting the North American figures to a total of $469.3 million.

Internationally, the movie also grossed an additional $108 million, bringing the foreign earnings to $545.5 million and the overall global tally to $1.015 billion.

Inside Out 2 is the first film since Barbie to surpass the $1 billion mark at the international box office, marking it the 11th animated film to do so. Disney holds a significant presence on this list, possessing eight of the films whether under Pixar or Walt Disney Animation.

The film, directed by Kelsey Mann, introduces new characters in the form of emotions that are brought to the forefront as the young protagonist, Riley, transitions into her teenage years. The cast includes Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Kensington Tallman, among various other notable names.

The original feature, Inside Out, which was released in 2015, previously gathered $858.8 million on a global scale. The sequel has earned recognition for Pixar and Disney, shattering several records since its debut earlier this month.
