“Inside Out 2 Breaks Global Box Office Record, Becomes Fastest Animation to Cross $1 Billion”

Inside Out 2, a Pixar and Disney creation, has successfully joined the $1 billion club at the global box office in record time for an animated film. This achievement marks a significant revival for the summer box office. Accomplishing this feat on its 19th day in release, the film has set a new record for animated movies.

In its third weekend, Inside Out 2 remained at the top of the box office chart, scoring a domestic total of $57.4 million and raising its North American total to $469.3 million. Internationally, it raked in an additional $108 million, culminating in a foreign total of $545.5 million and a global record of $1.015 billion.

This Pixar film is the first to cross the $1 billion mark at the global box office since Barbie, nearly a year ago. Of animated movies to reach this milestone, it is the 11th, and Disney holds claim to eight other films on this list, under either Pixar or the Walt Disney Animation category.

Inside Out 2, directed by Kelsey Mann, is another win for Pixar as it continues to break records following its launch this month. The sequel features new characters that come into play when the protagonist Riley transitions into her teenage years. Voices for the film are provided by a star-studded cast including Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, and many more.

The first Inside Out film in 2015 saw global success, but topped out at $858.8 million.
