The Fiji Development Bank (FDB) and the Public Rental Board (PRB) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at launching a comprehensive housing revitalisation strategy. This collaborative initiative focuses on enhancing homeownership and elevating living standards, with an emphasis on inclusive housing developments nationwide.
In their joint statement, both organizations highlighted the significance of this partnership in targeting one of Fiji’s most pressing social challenges: affordable housing. They expressed confidence that this collaboration would yield unique and tangible solutions that the nation has not seen before.
While specific details of the plan are yet to be disclosed, the two entities have described their partnership as a united effort to confront Fiji’s increasing housing shortage, particularly for low- and middle-income families. FDB’s CEO, Filimone Waqabaca, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to fostering national development by improving the socio-economic well-being of communities through accessible financial services.
