Injury Woes for Ireland as Kelleher Joins Hooker Crisis

DUBLIN – Ronan Kelleher from Ireland will be sidelined for four to six weeks due to an ankle injury, as announced by his club, Leinster, on Monday. This injury further complicates the situation for the Six Nations champions at the hooker position, especially since Dan Sheehan is also out until next year.

Kelleher had surgery after injuring his ankle during a recent match against Benetton. Ireland is set to compete against New Zealand on November 8, followed by matches against Argentina, Fiji, and Australia over the next three weekends.

Sheehan, Ireland’s primary hooker, is currently recovering from ACL surgery, which he required after sustaining the injury during a game against South Africa in July. The potential replacements, Rob Herring and Tom Stewart from Ulster, have not yet played this season.
