The inauguration of the FHL Tower in Suva has been postponed once again, following a workplace incident that resulted in injuries to two construction workers. Fijian Holdings Limited (FHL) confirmed that the incident took place on November 25 at the construction site of the FHL Tower.
Although FHL has not clarified if they will incur any legal liability concerning the injuries, they stated that they are working closely with the main contractor and relevant authorities to ensure proper protocols are adhered to during this process. As a result of this incident, the opening, which was initially scheduled for next month, will be delayed.
FHL emphasized their commitment to safety, underscoring the importance of maintaining high standards of care and responsibility on the construction site. They expressed their heartfelt thoughts and prayers for the affected workers and their families during this challenging time.
FHL is currently listed on the South Pacific Stock Exchange.
In summary, while the delay of the FHL Tower’s opening is disappointing, the company’s focus on ensuring a safe construction environment is commendable. This situation highlights the importance of workplace safety and the need for organizations to prioritize the well-being of their employees. With proper management and support, there is hope that the project will proceed safely and successfully in the near future.
