Opposition Leader Inia Seruiratu announced today at a media conference in Suva that the formation of a new political party is underway as they prepare for the upcoming 2026 General Election. Echoing sentiments of leadership improvement, Seruiratu emphasized that Fiji deserves a government capable of honoring its promises.

“We will create a party founded on humility, acceptance, and love for one another, all while working towards crafting a safe, secure, and prosperous Fiji for every Fijian,” explained Seruiratu. He affirmed that the new party aims to restore equality, democracy, and transparency for all citizens, aspiring to lead the nation back to stability akin to that experienced under Voreqe Bainimarama’s administration.

With the Fiji First party now de-registered and the recent alignment of the G-9 within the Coalition Government, Seruiratu expressed their determination to regroup and work towards a vision for a better Fiji. Reflecting on past experiences, he stated, “We have learned from what we achieved as Fiji First and will build on that, while also correcting our prior shortcomings.”
