Indo-Pacific Army Seminar Tackles Key Security Challenges

The second day of the Indo-Pacific Army Management Seminar (IPAMS) focused on “Joint and combined operations in the Indo-Pacific region.” Discussions in the plenary sessions revolved around topics such as regional land power networks, joint training and exercises, climate security, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and peacekeeping operations, engaging heads of delegations.

A seminar tailored for senior enlisted leaders highlighted the evolution of Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) within the Indo-Pacific strategic context. Key discussions emphasized the importance of preparing future generations of NCOs to tackle upcoming challenges through cultural training.

Meanwhile, a separate session for a wives group addressed significant topics, including women’s roles in security and the perspectives on women, peace, and security within the regional security landscape. They also reviewed a case study on the humanitarian response to recent flooding in Pakistan.

Overall, this conference continues to function as a vital platform for collaborative strategies aimed at enhancing understanding across the Indo-Pacific region.
