India’s President Droupadi Murmu has acknowledged Fiji’s rising global influence in tackling climate change and addressing human conflicts. While speaking to Parliament, she emphasized Fiji’s significant contributions on the world stage, particularly in shaping discussions around climate issues and representing the interests of Ocean-States.
President Murmu expressed that despite the geographic distance, India and Fiji maintain a strong relationship. She noted that their collaboration spans various sectors, including agriculture, capacity building, clean energy, digital partnerships, education, healthcare, manufacturing, research, renewable energy, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which continues to strengthen.
President Murmu reaffirmed India’s commitment to supporting Fiji in building a more resilient and prosperous nation, aiming to maximize the potential of their partnership for the benefit of both Indian and Fijian citizens.
