Indian Boxers Head to Fiji for Zeg Kings Boxing Promotion

Three talented boxers from India – Aarti Hoodha, Pawan Kumar, and Rohit – have touched down in Fiji to compete in the Stratum Construction Zeg Kings Boxing Promotion event scheduled for this Saturday at the Vodafone Arena in Suva. This exciting promotion will feature their respective bouts, showcasing their skills on an international stage.

Twenty-six-year-old Pawan Kumar is set to face Australian boxer Andrew Maloney in a Super Bantamweight contest. Kumar, hailing from a boxing lineage where his grandfather serves as a coach with the Indian national boxing federation, is determined to turn his international fortunes around. Despite three prior losses on foreign turf, he brings a significant home record of eight wins, six of which have come by knockout, which fuels his confidence going into the match.

Rohit, at 23 years old, will be making his international debut against Filise Nabua for the Welter Weight title. With a professional record of five wins and one loss in six fights, Rohit feels ready to seize this opportunity and showcase his abilities on this prestigious platform.

Aarti Hoodha, the youngest among the trio at 25, will compete in the Lightweight division against Laite Nanovi. She began her boxing journey at 14, inspired by her father despite facing societal restrictions on female athletes in her community. Hoodha’s story embodies the growing momentum for women in boxing and her participation marks a significant step toward greater representation.

Fans eager to support their favorite fighters can catch all the action live on FBC’s online platform, VitiPlus, for a fee of $99 FJD. The anticipation for this event is reminiscent of similar past promotions in Fiji, which have emphasized the country’s emerging reputation as a hub for boxing, both locally and internationally. Events like this not only foster enthusiasm for the sport but also inspire the next generation of boxers to dream big and pursue their ambitions. As efforts to elevate boxing in Fiji continue, both local and visiting fighters have the chance to shine, paving the way for a bright future in the sport.
