India and Fiji Team Up to Boost Tourism Awareness

The Secretary East of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Jaideep Mazumdar, has expressed the Indian government’s interest in collaborating with the Fiji High Commission in New Delhi to promote Fijian tourism in India.

Mazumdar noted that awareness of Fiji’s tourism offerings is limited outside of major cities like New Delhi. He indicated a willingness to partner with the Fijian High Commission to raise awareness about the travel opportunities and attractions available in Fiji.

Jagnath Sami, the Fiji High Commissioner in New Delhi, highlighted the lack of knowledge about Fiji in smaller Indian cities, stating that while people in New Delhi are somewhat aware, many others are not familiar with how to reach Fiji or what the country has to offer.

Mazumdar emphasized Fiji’s status as a key partner for India in the Pacific region, mentioning its significant Indian-origin population. He stressed the need to showcase Fiji’s natural beauty, facilities, and hospitality to a broader audience in India, expressing optimism about the potential for promoting Fijian tourism through this upcoming partnership.
