India and Fiji Forge New Ties with Groundbreaking Projects

President Droupadi Murmu of India departed the country yesterday afternoon, carrying land lease documents for two significant projects in Fiji that are set to commence soon.

The first lease pertains to the establishment of a 100 Bed Super Specialty Cardiology Hospital in Suva, while the second involves the Indian High Commission Chancery and Indian Cultural Centre Complex, also located in Suva.

According to a government statement, “The implementation of these two projects represents a new chapter in the bilateral relations between Fiji and India.”

The construction of the 100 Bed Super Specialty Cardiology Hospital is anticipated to significantly enhance healthcare services in Fiji. It will provide specialized medical and cardiology services that will be available to everyday Fijians and the wider Pacific region.

Meanwhile, the establishment of the Indian High Commission Chancery and Indian Cultural Centre Complex is expected to strengthen diplomatic ties and promote increased collaboration between the two nations.
