The 2025 Fijian Cup is set to become an exciting highlight this weekend with the inaugural Fijian Cup Oztag Tournament taking place at Lawaqa Park. The event will unfold over two days, kicking off tomorrow and culminating on Saturday.
Nanise Tikoicina, Assistant Tournament Director, emphasized that this is more than just a competitive sports event; it is a celebration of unity and a platform for showcasing local talent. “We are thrilled to have teams from various communities and backgrounds joining us,” Tikoicina remarked. She expressed anticipation for new friendships to blossom and for the love of the game to shine through at each match.

The tournament will feature a diverse range of competitive categories, including Naseigwane (Men’s), Vulau (Women’s), Veiwaki (Open Mixed), and Naviagwane (Masters). The men’s division includes eight teams split into two pools: Pool A consists of the Dream Team, Hunter Brothers, AFL, and Sigatoka, while Pool B features Real Ones, Hoodlegends, Eastern Saints, and Seabreeze. The women’s division will see four teams—Paraadice, AFL, Real Ones, and Laselase—battling it out for the championship title, with the Open Mixed category featuring eight teams and the Masters division featuring four teams.
