Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad held a meeting with Professor Gita Gopinath, the First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), during the 2024 Annual Meetings of the IMF and World Bank Group taking place in Washington, D.C.
The discussions centered on the current state of the global economy, its future prospects, and risks arising from increasing geopolitical tensions and climate change.
Meetings will continue throughout the week with key figures including the President of the World Bank, the Managing Director of the IMF, the President of COP 29, along with various other bilateral consultations.
