Today, Professor Biman Prasad, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, took part in a high-level roundtable focused on the Pacific Islands, which was chaired by Kristalina Georgieva, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Bo Li, the Deputy Managing Director overseeing the Asia Pacific region, was also present at the meeting.

They highlighted significant challenges, including the escalating threats posed by natural disasters, economic shocks, and difficulties in accessing adequate climate financing.

This engagement signals a strong commitment to addressing the pressing financial needs of Pacific nations, particularly as they navigate the complex impacts of climate change and economic upheaval. The emphasis on collaboration and advocacy for more robust financing solutions presents a hopeful avenue for enhancing resilience in the region.
