Illuminate Hope: The Grand Pacific Hotel Shines for Pinktober

The Grand Pacific Hotel hosted a significant lighting event for Pinktober, aimed at raising awareness for breast cancer and expressing solidarity with those impacted by the disease.

Belinda Chan, the chief executive officer of the Fiji Cancer Society, expressed gratitude for the hotel’s support in their ongoing efforts to enhance cancer awareness through school programs and provide social support to patients. “Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death in the country,” Ms. Chan stated. She added that their organization is dedicated to increasing awareness, promoting early detection through educational programs, and offering emotional support to all affected by cancer. “Our educational campaigns are crucial for empowering individuals on the importance of regular health check-ups, and I thank the Grand Pacific Hotel for their continued support,” she said.

Nancy Chute, the hotel’s services manager, explained that illuminating the hotel serves as a demonstration of their commitment to the cause. “Throughout October, we organize special initiatives to raise awareness and support those affected by breast cancer,” Ms. Chute noted. She mentioned that this year marks the fourth year of their partnership with the society for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. She emphasized, “The vibrant glow of the hotel represents more than just a color; it symbolizes hope, strength, and a memory of those we have lost.”
