Tevita Ikanivere, captain of the FIJI Water Flying Fijians and a former star from Queen Victoria School (QVS) U18, is optimistic about his alma mater’s chances in the upcoming 2024 Vodafone Super Deans competition. As he prepares to lead the Flying Fijians in the Pacific Nations Cup starting August 23 against Manu Samoa at HFC Stadium, Ikanivere expressed unwavering confidence in QVS, saying, “I know QVS will win the Deans.”
In his role as co-captain of the Fijian Drua, Ikanivere not only supported QVS but also offered encouragement to all participating teams, urging them to train hard and perform at their best on the field. “For the rest of the teams, hope you prepare well and come and perform well on the field,” he stated.
He encouraged fans to rally support for the secondary school competitors, adding, “To all the fans, come out in numbers and support our secondary school boys and girls.” He concluded with a confident remark, “QVS will win,” emphasizing the school’s status as the defending champion of the Deans Trophy.
Queen Victoria School is scheduled to play against Ratu Navula College in the much-anticipated second semi-final, which will take place tomorrow at 5 PM.
