Tevita Ikanivere, the captain of the FIJI Water Flying Fijians and a former standout at Queen Victoria School (QVS), expressed strong confidence in his old school winning the upcoming 2024 Vodafone Super Deans competition. As Ikanivere leads the Flying Fijians into their Pacific Nations Cup campaign, starting on August 23 against Manu Samoa at HFC Stadium, he eagerly predicted QVS’s success.
“I know QVS will win the Deans,” he declared enthusiastically. In addition to backing his alma mater, Ikanivere, who co-captains the Fijian Drua, took the opportunity to encourage all teams competing in the tournament. He urged them to prepare thoroughly and give their best efforts during the matches.
“For the rest of the teams, I hope you prepare well and come and perform well on the field,” Ikanivere said. He also called on fans to come out in large numbers to support the secondary school students.
Ikanivere concluded with a confident smile, reaffirming, “QVS will win.” The school is the current holder of the Deans Trophy and is set to face Ratu Navula College in the highly awaited second semi-final scheduled for tomorrow at 5 PM.
