Tevita Ikanivere, captain of the Fiji Water Flying Fijians and a former star of Queen Victoria School (QVS) U18, is optimistic that his alma mater will triumph in the 2024 Vodafone Super Deans competition. As he prepares to lead the Flying Fijians into their Pacific Nations Cup campaign, commencing on August 23 against Manu Samoa at HFC Stadium, Ikanivere did not hold back in expressing his belief in QVS’s success.
“I know QVS will win the Deans,” he stated enthusiastically. In addition to voicing his confidence in his old school, Ikanivere, who is also a co-captain for the Fijian Drua, encouraged all competing teams to train rigorously and showcase their best abilities during the tournament.
“I hope the rest of the teams prepare well and deliver strong performances on the field. To all the fans, come out in numbers and support our secondary school boys and girls,” he urged.
Concluding his remarks, Ikanivere boldly predicted, with a smile, “QVS will win.” QVS is the current defending champion of the Deans Trophy and is set to face Ratu Navula College in the much-anticipated second semi-final tomorrow at 5 p.m.
