Husband Dismisses Wife’s Claims: Is Grace Road Church Under Fire?

The husband of a woman who recently left the Grace Road Church (GRC) has denied allegations made by his wife regarding mistreatment within the organization. Speaking to The Fiji Times, he emphasized that their situation is a personal matter and should not involve the church itself.

The wife, who has chosen to remain anonymous, stated that she left the True Mart shopping center in Navua after spending nearly eight years with GRC. Her decision was fueled by her desire to provide her two children—ages 13 and four—with better opportunities outside the church.

The husband countered his wife’s claims, suggesting that her feelings of anger led her to blame the organization. He noted, “Separation is normal,” implying that the family’s separation was a necessary part of hard work and growth within the church. He expressed his belief that the children are happy and well cared for, pointing to their involvement in various activities such as golf, gymnastics, swimming, and tennis, and reiterated their educational success.

He also shared a hopeful outlook, wishing that his wife would reconsider her position and return to the family. While GRC has opted not to comment on the allegations and has redirected inquiries to the husband, this situation highlights the complexities and emotional challenges that individuals may face when navigating family dynamics within a faith-based organization.

In summary, this situation underscores the personal struggles that can arise in religious contexts and the necessity for open dialogue within families. It reflects a broader theme of seeking understanding and reconciliation, alongside acknowledging individual perspectives within personal conflicts.
