Hurricanes Winger Signs with French Club: Future With Flying Fijians?

Hurricanes winger Salesi Rayasi might soon don the jersey of the Flying Fijians. This development follows the announcement by French club RC Vannes of Rayasi’s signing.

The 27-year-old had been committed to playing for the All Blacks while contracted with the Hurricanes. His move to France now releases him from that commitment.

In an April interview with SUNsports, Rayasi expressed his willingness to play for the Flying Fijians if given the opportunity.

Rayasi’s father, Filipe, represented the Flying Fijians in 13 Test matches.

Rayasi has an impressive record in Super Rugby with the Hurricanes, playing 51 games, including 33 starts, and scoring 30 tries. He also demonstrated his skill with Auckland in the NPC, scoring 40 tries in 52 matches. His athletic prowess and scoring abilities have earned him several selections for the New Zealand rugby 7s team. His two-season stint with RC Vannes will mark his first experience playing abroad.
