Loyal Hurricanes fan Steve Tait made the journey from Wellington to experience the excitement of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific match in Lautoka, a moment he had only witnessed from his living room until now. Tait, accompanied by three fellow supporters, planned to extend their stay for a mini-vacation.

Living in Wellington, Tait is accustomed to wild weather and expressed confidence in the Hurricanes’ adaptability to the rain in Fiji. He commented, “I think they can handle the rain; we’ve got some big forwards and it may be a little better than hot and sunny.” The early downpour at Churchill Park didn’t dampen his spirits; in fact, Tait saw it as favorable conditions for a winning performance by his team.

As an avid supporter with season tickets back home, Tait was eager to witness this match in person. He praised the enthusiasm of Fijian crowds he had seen on television, remarking, “I think they love rugby as much as we do.” Dressed in the Hurricanes’ signature yellow and black, Tait was among many fans showing their allegiance as they gathered to cheer for their team, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.

The enthusiasm and dedication shown by Tait and fellow Hurricanes supporters highlight the universal love for rugby and the unique experience of connecting with fans in different parts of the world.
