Hot Bread Kitchen is celebrating community engagement with the launch of its new location at the Damodar Arts Village in Pacific Harbour. To mark this occasion, the bakery is initiating a campaign that invites customers to help choose a name for a new signature bread.
Managing Director Vannessa Charters shared that this initiative aligns with the company’s tradition of creating unique, location-inspired products when opening in new areas. Previous examples include the “Labasa Loaf,” which debuted at the Labasa bakery, and the popular Sigatoka “Saqamoli,” or Lolo Buns.
With the opening of this new outlet serving the Serua community, Charters expressed her desire for customers to play a role in defining the store’s identity. She explained that customers can participate in the naming competition by visiting the Pacific Harbour outlet, purchasing any item, and completing an entry form with their suggested name. This campaign encourages creativity and allows participants to submit multiple entries.
Charters highlighted the initiative’s goal of celebrating the local community while developing a product that embodies the character and identity of Pacific Harbour and Serua. Div Damodar, CEO of the Damodar Group of Companies, mentioned that the new outlet is part of a broader vision to enhance commercial activity in the area and draw more businesses to the Arts Village.
The naming competition will take place concurrently with the launch period of the new outlet, and the winning suggestion will officially become the signature bread of the Hot Bread Kitchen chain’s latest establishment. This community-focused approach not only fosters local participation but also reinforces the bakery’s commitment to integrating with the neighborhoods it serves.
