Hospital Fundraiser Hits a Snag: What’s Next for Savusavu Town?

Spread the love

A fundraising initiative in Savusavu Town aimed at renovating the local hospital has hit a snag due to regulatory challenges. The town officials had initially planned to organize a festival after securing a sponsorship deal to generate necessary funds for the hospital upgrade.

Shankar Singh, the chair of the town, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating that they were ready to raise money for the healthcare facility. As part of the agreement, the sponsor requested that their logo be featured on promotional boards at the event. However, Mr. Singh revealed that they were informed by authorities that commercial billboards are prohibited in certain areas, which may jeopardize the fundraiser.

Despite the setback, Mr. Singh remains optimistic, hoping to find a solution that will allow the fundraiser to proceed and ultimately benefit the hospital. The community’s determination to support local healthcare underscores the importance of collaboration in overcoming obstacles.

In an effort to clarify the situation, questions directed at the Fiji Roads Authority have yet to be addressed.

This situation highlights the often complex relationship between community fundraising efforts and regulatory frameworks. It is a reminder that while there are challenges, the commitment to improving local health facilities can lead to innovative solutions if the community continues to work together.
