The Adult and Teen Challenge (Fiji) serves as a beacon of hope for individuals struggling with drug addiction, according to Reverend Hemraj Mangal, the executive director of the program. Situated in Lololo, Lautoka, this initiative focuses on recovery and reintegration into society.

Reverend Mangal emphasizes that their program is structured to empower participants and restore them to their families and communities. “At this place, hope is revived, and people can live again,” he stated. The treatment program is methodically divided into four distinct stages: recovery, rehabilitation, empowerment, and restoration.

The initial recovery phase lasts between 16 to 20 weeks and is fundamentally spiritual in nature, relying entirely on biblical principles without medical intervention. Participants look to God for healing and freedom from addiction. The subsequent rehabilitation stage aims to cultivate positive character development, enabling individuals to lead normal lives.

Empowerment follows, where vocational training in carpentry, joinery, farming, and electrical work is provided, catering to the individual interests of the participants. The final stage of this comprehensive 12-month program focuses on reuniting individuals with their families, marking a vital step toward successful reintegration.

Mr. Mangal highlights the success of the program by tracking the rates of relapse, aiming to ensure that individuals do not return to drug use post-recovery.

This approach reflects a compassionate understanding of addiction and emphasizes community support, which is essential in the journey of recovery. The Adult and Teen Challenge (Fiji) exemplifies a transformative model, offering individuals a second chance at life, one grounded in faith, personal growth, and reconnecting with loved ones.

Summary: The Adult and Teen Challenge (Fiji), led by Reverend Hemraj Mangal, provides drug addiction treatment through a biblically grounded, four-stage program focusing on recovery, rehabilitation, empowerment, and restoration. The initiative emphasizes spiritual healing and vocational training, with the goal of helping individuals reintegrate into society and avoid relapse.
