Honoring Excellence: Fiji Police Recognizes Outstanding Service Amid Challenges

Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew, praised the commendable efforts of officers in the Western Division during a medal presentation ceremony held at the Girmit Center in Lautoka. Acknowledging the numerous challenges faced by the division over the past year, Chew emphasized the importance of resilience.

He remarked, “We have our good days and bad days, but we continue to march on, never allowing the negatives to bring us down.” Highlighting the crucial role of strong leadership, he commended the Divisional Police Commander and his team for maintaining direction and morale within the force.

Additionally, Chew expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him during his tenure as Acting Commissioner of Police and extended his thanks to retired officers for their ongoing commitment to the organization.

A total of 188 officers and retirees were honored with the Fiji Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, while 69 received the prestigious Fiji Police Medal for their service.

This celebration not only recognizes the dedication of the police force but also serves as a reminder of the critical role law enforcement plays in maintaining community safety. As the Fiji Police continues to navigate challenges, the commitment shown by its members reinforces public trust and fosters a sense of unity within the community.
