Honoring Bravery: Fiji Police Recognizes Excellence Amid Challenges

Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew, praised the commendable efforts of officers in the Western Division during a medal presentation held at the Girmit Center in Lautoka this morning. Chew recognized the numerous challenges faced by the division over the past year, emphasizing the importance of resilience and strong leadership.

“We experience both good days and bad days, yet we strive to keep moving forward, refusing to let negative experiences deter us. It takes effective leadership to navigate through challenges, and I commend you, DPC and your Command group, for your exemplary guidance,” he stated.

In his speech, Chew expressed gratitude to those who have supported him throughout his tenure as Acting Commissioner and acknowledged both current and retired officers for their ongoing commitment to the organization they once served.

During the ceremony, a total of 188 officers and retirees were honored with the Fiji Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, while 69 individuals received the Fiji Police Medal.

This event not only celebrates the dedication of police officers but also highlights the importance of teamwork and community support in overcoming difficulties. The recognition of these dedicated individuals serves as a reminder of the vital role they play in maintaining public safety and fostering trust within the community.
