The Homecoming Concert 2024 in Fiji proved to be an unforgettable experience for those fortunate enough to attend. This event marked Fiji’s largest musical concert since the days of Lucky Dube and UB40, attracting a diverse crowd to King Charles Park for two days of performances.

For many fans, notable performances by George (Fiji) Veikoso and Maoli dominated social media feeds, yet the true essence of the concert was felt in person. Attendees were treated to stunning lighting and an electrifying atmosphere, especially during Veikoso’s impactful entrance with his song “Indigenous Life.”

The anticipation built among concert-goers, many of whom, like the author and their family, faced challenges in securing tickets. After an intense fundraising effort, which included selling kati cards and working at local festivities, they made the decision to travel to Nadi in hopes of purchasing tickets at the door.

As fate would have it, they were aided by a family member visiting from Australia who generously funded their tickets just days before the concert. On concert day, despite initial worries about ticket availability, the group succeeded in purchasing tickets at the gate, marking a triumphant end to their journey.

The vibrant atmosphere and delicious food offerings enhanced the concert experience, and the event’s lineup, hosted by Tofiga Fepulea’i of the Laughing Samoans, left everyone eager for future concerts. Plans are already underway for Homecoming Concert 2025, ensuring that fans won’t miss out again.
