Frank Cozzolino, a beloved electrician known for his appearances on HGTV shows including “Holmes on Homes,” has passed away at the age of 56. He died unexpectedly on December 4 in Toronto, as confirmed by a death notice.
Mike Holmes, who collaborated with Cozzolino on several projects, shared the sad news, stating that his friend died due to health complications. Holmes noted that Cozzolino had undergone a liver transplant six years ago, but after complications arose due to the failure of that liver, he required another transplant. Tragically, despite his remarkable recovery, Cozzolino passed away suddenly.
In a heartfelt video tribute on Instagram, Holmes reflected on their long-standing friendship, detailing how he met Cozzolino on the first day of filming “Holmes on Homes” in 2003. Cozzolino’s dedication to helping homeowners was evident from the start, as he readily offered his assistance despite the show’s financial constraints. This moment marked the beginning of a partnership that allowed them to positively impact countless families over the years.
HGTV also paid tribute to Cozzolino, expressing their sadness at his passing. The network praised him as an exceptional craftsman whose kindness, integrity, and commitment significantly influenced every project and person he encountered.
Cozzolino hailed from the Junction area of Toronto before moving to Malton in Mississauga, Ontario, where he launched his own electrical contracting company, Solutions Electrical. His expertise led him to be featured in 29 episodes of “Holmes on Homes” between 2003 and 2009, and he continued to appear in other Holmes series, including “Holmes Inspection,” “Holmes Makes It Right,” and “Holmes Family Rescue.”
Holmes conveyed his profound admiration for Cozzolino, stating, “Frank made us better. His impact will live on in every home he helped.” He remembered Cozzolino’s ability to uplift any situation with a joke and emphasized how much he truly cared for the quality of his work and the wellbeing of those around him.
