On January 24, 2025, the Fijian Drua will host Rugby Football Club Los Angeles (RFCLA) for a historic match at Churchill Park in Lautoka, Fiji. This encounter will mark the first-ever meeting between a Major League Rugby (MLR) team and a Super Rugby Pacific squad, showcasing the expanding global footprint of rugby.

The Fijian Drua announced the details in a press release, emphasizing their excitement in being the first Super Rugby team to engage with an MLR franchise. RFCLA’s lineup is bolstered by notable players, including Olympic gold medalist Semi Kunatani and former Moana Pasifika captain Christian Leali’ifano, coached by rugby champions Stephen Hoiles and David Dennis.
