A fire occurred at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa on Saturday, specifically in the storeroom located at the back of the house. The National Fire Authority is currently conducting an investigation into the incident. Carey Osborne, the resort’s general manager, confirmed that the fire was quickly contained and extinguished, with no injuries reported.
Osborne stated that none of the guest rooms were impacted by the fire. As a precautionary measure, a small number of guests in adjacent rooms were safely evacuated. She emphasized that the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa is dedicated to upholding strict safety practices and regulations, prioritizing the wellbeing and security of both guests and staff.
Senior Superintendent of Police Iakobo Vaisewa, the Divisional Police Commander for the West, also reported no casualties and is awaiting the findings of the investigation.
