Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa and DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji celebrated their annual Career’s Fair on October 31, 2025, attracting over 350 students from various tertiary institutions and secondary schools across Fiji. This event aimed to immerse young Fijians in the evolving landscape of hospitality and tourism, which remains one of Fiji’s essential economic sectors.
Taking place at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, the Career’s Fair featured an inspiring opening address from Dr. Eci Naisele, Director of the Higher Education Commission Fiji, along with remarks from Hilton’s Cluster General Manager, Carey Osborne. Dr. Naisele underlined the significance of collaborative industry partnerships in nurturing the future workforce and urged students to pursue fulfilling careers that would contribute to Fiji’s growth.
Participants included students from Fiji National University (Nadi, Labasa & Nasese Campuses), Pacific Polytech, and eight secondary schools, such as Korovuto College, Ratu Navula College, and Tavua College. The fair showcased 14 diverse organizations representing industries ranging from education and finance to aviation and the performing arts. Notable participants included Spa Academy, Universal Academy of Beauty, and Fiji Airports.
Hilton team members highlighted a broad spectrum of career opportunities within hospitality, covering roles in Front Office, Food & Beverage, Spa, Recreation, Engineering, and Business Development. Attendees actively engaged in interactive sessions designed to foster networking and hands-on learning experiences.
Ana Nasilasila, Cluster Director of Human Resources for Hilton Fiji, expressed that the goal of the event was to motivate students to view hospitality as a vibrant and rewarding profession. “We’re proud to partner with educational institutions and fellow organizations to create opportunities that build Fiji’s future workforce,” she stated.
Carey Osborne emphasized the pride Hilton feels in being recognized as the top hospitality company by Great Place to Work. He noted that the Career’s Fair was an opportunity to share that spirit with the next generation of Fijians, hoping to inspire them to explore the exciting possibilities within the hospitality sector.
