A fire occurred on Saturday at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa, specifically in the storeroom located at the back of the house, prompting an investigation by the National Fire Authority. Carey Osborne, the general manager of the resort, confirmed that the fire was swiftly controlled and extinguished, with no injuries reported.

Osborne stated, “No guest rooms were affected,” and noted that a small number of guests were evacuated from adjacent rooms as a precautionary measure. She reiterated the resort’s commitment to upholding strict safety and security standards to ensure the well-being of their guests and staff remains the top priority.

Senior Superintendent of Police Iakobo Vaisewa, the Divisional Police Commander for West, also reported that there were no casualties and that they are awaiting the results of the investigation.
